How the department handles the information you give it.
What we collect
When you apply for a service we collect the information on the application form, the documents you upload, and a record of the payment you make. When you browse the site we collect nothing beyond what is needed to serve the page.
Why we hold it
Your information is used to decide your application and to meet the department's obligations under the Immigration Act and the Barbados Citizenship Act. It is retained for as long as those obligations require.
Who sees it
Departmental officers processing your application, and other agencies where the law requires it. Your information is not sold, and it is not used for any purpose beyond the one you gave it for.
Your rights
You may ask what information the department holds about you and ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected. Contact the department to make a request.
