Renouncing citizenship
Citizens of full age and capacity.
Under Part III section 8 of the Barbados Citizenship Act cap. 186, any citizen of full age and capacity may renounce their citizenship. The Minister may refuse to register a renunciation during a war in which Barbados is engaged.
How to apply
- 1 Complete the renunciation application form.
- 2 Pay the $500 fee.
- 3 Submit with originals and photocopies of your documents.
What you need
Bring the original of every document as well as a photocopy.
- Completed renunciation application
- Evidence that you hold or will acquire another nationality
- Originals and photocopies of all supporting documents
