Immigrant status
Non-nationals with an established connection to Barbados.
Adults submit three completed and certified forms; for a child under 16, two are needed. Applications are assessed on identity, character and qualifications.
How to apply
- 1 Complete Form A, certified as required.
- 2 Gather your civil, medical and character documents.
- 3 Pay the $300 fee and submit everything together.
What you need
Bring the original of every document as well as a photocopy.
- Original birth certificate and a copy
- Copy of the valid passport bio-data page
- Four photographs, one certified by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public
- Medical report on the standard form if 16 or over
- General health certificate if under 16
- Police certificate of character from every country you have lived in for six months or more in the past three years
- Spouse's birth certificate if married to a Barbadian citizen
- Marriage certificate, or divorce or death certificate for a previous marriage if applicable
- Letter from your school in Barbados, employment letter, and proof of qualifications
- Business registration, financial proof and evidence of funds transferred to Barbados if applying as a business person
- Evidence of means of support, income and property if over 60
- Affidavit explaining any difference between the names on your documents if names do not match
- Official English translation if any document is not in English
Worth knowing
- Police certificates must be originals. Every other document must be submitted as an original with a photocopy.
